Philosophy behind directedfocus Print

The philosophy behind DirectedFocus is one where, you have decisions to make relating to your future, your are assisted in making choices, setting up personal, administrative and management structures, maintaining momentum, challenging you and being provocative.

Why would you want to work with someone else?
Even if you are a very able individual, establishing and maintaining a focus and direction is not always achievable.

Whether your business is large or small, ask yourself, if you're going to be able to organise or afford the outcomes you require, are you going to be as successful as you could without an independent provocateur?

Questions .. unlimited
No matter who you are, or how you came to find out about me, I always ask questions.
In fact some people get sick of my questions.

  • What do you want to do?
  • How long have you got to do it?
  • What's the point?
  • Are you sure this is what you should be doing?
  • Have you asked your family what they want?
  • Is there a better way of doing it?
  • Why do it?

The point of these questions is - if you can't describe to me what is going on inside your head how can you empower yourself to achieve what you want?

You own the process

Whatever your background or skills, you provide the basis for deciding the direction you wish to take and what it is that you wish to achieve.

By the provision of an independent aspect, you gain a broader perspective on the issues that you face. In adopting a holistic approach to your life and business, we will work together, and should you need other service providers, you will use your existing providers.

In practically working with you in your small business there are two matters I would like to make you aware of two critical elements ...

A human management and operational element.
Many marginal businesses survive if the quality of the management is good. Conversely, many businesses, which should be viable viable, flounder if the human element is deficient. Our processes have been designed to assist you to get on with the tasks that really matter.

A theoretical financial element.
One that manifests itself in budgets, cash flows, predicted returns and the like. A business or organisation has to be able to provide sufficient return to its capital, service its debt to remain viable and in the longer term to be able to reward the proprietors for the capital invested. Appreciation of the fact that many individuals focus on the initial sale, not the ongoing viability or long term outcome of their activities can lead to unsatisfied outcomes.

What is your timetable?
Is your expected deadline last week, tomorrow, three weeks or three months? You would be surprised at people's expectations of time to complete an outcome.

I have assisted in delivering on lunatic schedules previously ... and we have all have ended up lunatics. So if you expect me to meet your short time frame needs I expect you to meet mine.

So now we have that blunt bit over with would you like to drop me a line and discuss where you would like to be and aren't?

I look forward to hearing from you.
