You've probably seen it, I saw it today.
They spent less and less on maintenance, painting and general upkeep and presentation. The obvious happened ... the place is looking grotty and ... yes you know the likely outcome. I'd suggest that it has happened to car yards, to butchers shops, fruit and vege shops, the $2 shops and more. Income declines and so the strategy is to cut everything to the bare bones, batten down the hatches, weather the storm. Problem is many don't open the hatches again, they go into a big spiral, they close the doors. Before this happens and while you have some cash and customers take a good long hard look at your business and take action. When times get tough and many listen to the "prophet's of doom" we can get sucked into the downward spiral of thinking. There is an alternative and it's about taking positive action. I've yet to see any one or any business shrink their way into making a great or useful contribution.
