The Approach Print E-mail

The approach we take in all our works is seen to by some to be a new way of thinking about planning and implementing the actions of those plans.

Many people say it's what they already do, when in actual fact it's what they think they do, but don't.

Regardless the approach doesn’t change the fundamentals, but it does change the focus.

It ads some new angles and it’s easier for users and better for their business.

What’s the Difference and Why?

It’s not a method

A method implies a step by step systematic process, something very much planned and linear, with a definite procedure that you can pick off the shelf and follow A to Z in a logical fashion. This could be likened to using a recipe as a method of cooking.

It’s an Approach

An approach implies a direction, a frame of mind, perhaps even a philosophy but not a formula of rules to be followed.

I’ve spent a lot of years working on my own plans and others, using the step by step approach to business planning. Some of them work … sometimes.

This approach isn’t yet another list of “do it my way” steps or a prescription

Traditional planning, the step by step approach, attractive as it is, reinforces the myth that business planning is a document or a hurdle.

Working Together

We work with participants and yourselves using two types of facilitated group workshop processes.

1. Firstly specific topic workshops covering ... Marketing Madness (strategic marketing), Internet for Business - not fashion (putting the internet into a real world situation) and Plan on the Run (business planning).

These workshops are each 2 days and include a one-on-one time with each particpant addressing their own specific issues. Ongoing support for 2 months is included.

2. Secondly there is an option for a 12 month program where between 10 and 15 non competing businesses get together on a regular basis.

Each business sets their own targets and works on the premise of “bite sized” tasks being achieved on a regular basis rather than wholesale changes. As part of the Network membership everyone has access via phone, e-mail and a web forum for ongoing support.

The important part of all our work is that participants come prepared, pre workshop action is a requirement, and ongoing support is always provided.

The Business Bites Workshops and Challenge Network are our core programs and can be customised to meet your needs.
